Where you are now

Your qualifications and work so far, and how much time you can give to study.

03

How you will pay

Your budget, and what student loans, grants or payment plans you may be able to use.

04

What you will ask

Recognition by your province, the total cost, how long it takes, and what graduates go on to do.

Questions about Namoye

Is Namoye a school or a university?

No. Namoye is a free matching service. It doesn't teach, enrol students or decide admissions. Any offer or advice comes from the provider that contacts you.

How can I tell whether a provider is legitimate?

Education is a provincial responsibility, so check with your province. Public colleges and universities are established under provincial law, and private career colleges generally must be registered or approved by the province. Check the provincial government's list, and be careful with guaranteed jobs or results, pressure to enrol immediately, and costs that aren't written down.

How do I find out what a program really costs?

Ask for the total cost in writing, including tuition, fees, books, equipment and exam costs, and how much of it is financed. Namoye doesn't set prices.

What funding might be available?

It depends on the program, your province and your circumstances. Canada Student Loans and provincial student aid, such as OSAP in Ontario, may be available for eligible programs at designated schools, and there are grants, scholarships and apprenticeship loans. Ask each provider whether the program qualifies, and check your provincial student aid office.

What if the school closes or I can't finish?

Some provinces have protection funds for students of private career colleges, and refund rules apply. Ask what refund and withdrawal terms apply, and get them in writing.

Will I be pushed to enrol?

You shouldn't be. A good provider answers your questions and lets you take your time. If you feel pressured, that is worth noticing.

What if I'm not sure which program I need?

Describe what you want to do in the message box, such as a career you're considering or a credential you need, and we'll match you with someone who can point you in the right direction.

What should I have ready?

What you want to study or do, your qualifications so far, and your postal code. If you don't have everything, send the request anyway.

Will several providers call me, and does it cost anything?

No to both. One verified professional contacts you, and Namoye is free for you.
